Film Projects

A list of the film projects Mark has been involved in and the tasks he performed on these shoots  can be seen below. The films he has written and directed are included in this list.

Film Projects

Director, screenwriter, sound recordist and editor, The Butcher . (April – May 2016)

  • Wrote a creative and inventive story.
  • Liaised with cast and crew to consolidate their involvement with the project.
  • Created a number of shot lists  to aid the cinematographer when shooting the film.
  • Created a number of storyboards to aid the cinematographer when shooting the film.
  • Recorded a number of dialogue scenes.
  • Ensured the comfort of cast and crew  throughout the shooting of the film.
  • Edited the film  and created a cogent piece of work.

Assistant director and sound recordist, What are you Waiting for ? (February – April 2016)

  • Recorded atmos in all locations where scenes of the film were shot.
  • Ensured all sound logs were appropriately filled out during the shoot.
  • Recorded  a number of the  scenes where the actors interact with one another .
  • Recorded natural sounds such as footsteps  and music.
  • Made sure the cast and crew of the film felt secure and relaxed.

Sound Recordist, UCS English Department Promotional Film . (June 2015 –  January  2016)

  • Recorded interviews with several lecturers and university students who had elected to be apart of the promotional film.
  • Recorded atmos in all locations where the subjects were interviewed.
  • Made sure all sound logs were filled out correctly throughout the shoot.

Sound Recordist, Thomas Wolsey Enterprise Chutney Advert. (October 2015)

  • Recorded students who had elected to be a part of the promotional film preparing and cooking the ingredients of the chutney they were making.
  • Recorded atmos where the subjects were cooking.

Sound Recordist, UCS Careers Department Promotional Film. (July 2015 – Sept 2015)

  • Recorded interviews with several lecturers and university students.
  • Recorded atmos in all locations where the subjects where interviewed.
  • Ensured all sound logs were appropriately filled out during the shoot.

Sound Recordist, ‘Join Us’ Student fiction short film. (March 2015)

  • Recorded all characters’ dialogue scenes in the film.
  • Recorded a number of different natural sounds required for the film such as footsteps and birdsong.
  • Ensured all sound logs were filled out accurately during the shoot.

 Sound Recordist, Writer, Director, Cinematographer and Actor, ‘Max’  Short experimental film .  (April 2015)

  • Performed a number of challenging duties  simultaneously with no assistance, such as directing and acting throughout the shoot.
  • Played the lead role in the film.
  • Recorded a number of different natural sounds required for the film such as footsteps and running water .
  • Ensured all sound logs were filled out accurately during the shoot.
  • Wrote screenplay that conformed to the assignment guidelines.

Sound Recordist,  Woodbridge Tide Mill documentary.  (December 2014)

  • Recorded  interviews with the millers of the Tide Mill.
  • Recorded a number of different natural sounds required for the film such as running water and turning wheels .
  • Ensured all sound logs were filled out accurately during the shoot.
  • Recorded atmos in all locations where the interviews had taken place.
